The Language Business

Since it was set up in 1988, The Language Business has provided language training to companies across the United Kingdom as well as in the rest of Europe. It has a reputation for meeting customer needs in a flexible, responsive and cost-effective way, and has worked with many major UK businesses.

The Language Business can provide group and one-to-one tuition in most of the European languages, in Japanese, and in English as a foreign language. Intensive language courses can also be arranged. It is one of the UK's most experienced companies in the delivery of language training using the Accelerated Learning methodology.

Training options

At The Language Business, there is no such thing as a 'standard' course. We can offer various ways of delivering language training, both for groups - of up to ten - or for individuals. Training is normally delivered on client premises.

Distance Learning
The Language Business has therefore designed an innovative programme of supported distance learning.

The programme is an imaginative combination of the Accelerated Learning material - used mainly for self-study - and interactive workshops which take place at intervals throughout the course. Such programmes make minimum incursion into work time

Accelerated Learning
Accelerated Learning is a training methodology. It is based on research into learning and memory; it applies these discoveries in a practical way to ensure both rapid and effective learning.

The course material consists of workbooks, CDs, a video and supporting booklets. It is suitable for self-study, but learners with The Language Business will also benefit from sessions with our trainers, where the knowledge acquired through self-study is activated.

Dutch Course
We therefore agreed with Accelerated Learning, publishers of the courses in French, German, Italian and Spanish, that we could produce a Dutch version.

The course was professionally recorded with Dutch actors and language trainers and the workbooks were produced at Accelerated Learning.

The Secrets of Learning a Language explains how the course works and gives many practical tips for maximising the benefit from self-study.
