Benefits of Investing in People

Good news for everyone.

Investors in People have seen a dramatic increase in employers signing up to their standard, as we report in our news section. This is great news for British industry, and of course for the training sector.

To gain IIP recognition, a business must satisfy a licensed assessor that:

  • Owners and managers are committed to developing all employees to enable them to achieve business objectives
  • The development needs of employees are reviewed regularly
  • The development of individuals is a continuous process
  • Results of development activities are measured and appraised

These are admirable goals and businesses accredited with the Investors in people standard regularly report increased customer satisfaction, business performance, quality of work and productivity.

Organisations that are Investors in People now employ slightly less that one third of the UK workforce. A significant achievement, but there is still room for improvement! Investing in people benefits both the employer and employee. Don't let training and development slip down your list of priorities.
