BBC Worldwide Learning hits the road

BBC Worldwide Learning which produces a range of courses and training materials for use in business learning under the brand name BBC LEARNING is holding a series of 'roadshows' at key BBC locations in London, Manchester and Birmingham throughout 2004 to bring trainers and buyers of learning materials delivered online or via video, CD-ROM and DVD up-to-date on the latest industry case studies and new projects.

"Although buyers can do much of their research into business learning materials 'virtually' these days, there is still no substitute for them being able to meet the programme makers and course developers and discuss key issues such as content and learning styles," said Jonathan Drake, BBC Worldwide's director of adult learning. "The new Roadshows will not only allow delegates to investigate our learning programmes in a practical, 'hands on' way but they will also enable delegates to discuss key e-learning issues not only with the programme makers but also with top independent market analysts and 'gurus', such as Vaughan Waller, chairman of the eLearning Network - the UK's leading professional body for all users and developers of e-learning materials."

BBC Worldwide Learning is part of BBC Worldwide, which was formed in 1994 to develop a co-ordinated approach to the BBC's commercial activities: television, channels, publishing, product licensing, Internet and interactive. BBC Worldwide exists to maximise the value of the BBC's assets for the benefit of the licence payer, and re-invest in public service programming. In 2002/03, BBC Worldwide returned £123m to the BBC.
